San Miguel

This municipality is the home of the traditional San Miguel Carnival being held every year on the last weekend of November and floods its streets with orchestras where the colorful parade goes by. This activity attracts nationals and foreigners, especially Salvadorans living abroad. Upon visiting this place, do not miss the magnificent Basilica Santuario Nuestra Señora de La Paz (Basilica of Our Virgin of the Peace) which is the second largest church in El Salvador after the Metropolitan Cathedral of San Salvador.
