Known as «La Ciudad Morena», «Ciudad Heroica» (Heroic city), «Capital del Mundo» (Capital of the World) and «Sucursal del Cielo» (an Agency of Heaven) because it is considered one of the most important and distinguished places in El Salvador.
Its historic center is one of the best in Central America, the almost perfect location of its buildings around Libertad Park, has given it that recognition. If you visit Morena City, you cannot miss the Cathedral of Santa Ana, declared a Cultural Heritage of El Salvador in 1995.
Nearby is the National Theater, one of the most beautiful and with the best acoustics and decoration in El Salvador, it was inaugurated in 1910. And another must-visit site is the City Hall Palace, the seat of the municipal government.
